Online Armor
Product Features & Advantages
Online Armor's Next Generation Anti-Spyware Technology analyzes and detects threats based on behavior rather than signatures, the method used by traditional and outdated anti-spyware programs. Relying on signatures to block threats allows newly-released, variant strains, custom-made, or unknown programs to pass freely and undetected through traditional Antivirus, Anti-Spyware, or firewall solutions. Online Armor's advanced behavior-based threat analysis instantly detects potential threats - whether known or unknown - protecting You, your PC, and your Privacy immediately and constantly.

Advanced Protection that is Easy to Use - No expertise required
Online Armor's advanced detection technology protects against and stops attempted unwanted or malicious behavior by other programs, known or unknown, whether through e-mail, surfing the Internet, or other online activities. Online Armor identifies and removes malicious programs missed by other products and protects against new threats as they are created.
Besides powerful protection through new detection technology, perhaps one of the best features of Online Armor is its simplicity. Online Armor is designed to be very user-friendly and easy to use regardless of the user's level of computer experience. All of the features work transparently, quietly protecting you in the background, and with minimum setup. Unlike most products, Online Armor includes many features designed to remove the guesswork, significantly reduce unnecessary or confusing warnings and pop-ups, and requires minimal user action.
Prevent Spyware - Maintain complete control over your Privacy and your PC
The Program Blocker gives you complete control over which programs are allowed to run on your computer. Known safe programs, such as Microsoft Office, will automatically be allowed to run without unnecessary pop-ups or warnings. New, questionable, and known dangerous programs, either user- installed or those attempting to install themselves, will automatically trigger an alert which indicates the level of threat, provides information about the program, and allows you to permit, block the program, or obtain further information. If you change your mind, you can easily reverse the decision at any time. If you allow a program to run and then block it while it is still running, Online Armor will automatically stop it and prevent it from running in future.
Remove Spyware - Clean and Thoroughly Remove Spyware
Once you install Online Armor, if Spyware attempts to invade your computer, or if you inadvertently permit Spyware to run, Online Armor makes removal and clean-up easy. Some forms of Spyware attempt to avoid detection and prevent removal by creating additional files in other locations, allowing it to re-install itself if need be. Online Armor allows you to quickly, easily, and thoroughly remove it - along with all of the files it created.
Keylogger Detection - Safeguards your private and confidential information
Keyloggers are a dangerous form of Spyware designed to capture and report keystrokes as users enter personal and confidential information such as user names, passwords, and account numbers on online banking and other secure Web sites. Online Armor protects your passwords and private information from being stolen by automatically detecting and blocking the Keylogger. Online Armor's advanced behavior detection ensures that even new, unknown, and specially targeted Keyloggers are detected and prevented.
Mail Filter - Protects against "Phishing" & other Email Threats
"Phishing" is the common name for a scam that uses fake emails and websites in an attempt to trick users into responding and disclosing personal information. Online Armor reviews inbound email for tricks used by scammers and, depending upon the level of certainty, will either alert you or remove the email altogether. The mail filter works with any email client that supports POP3 or IMAP, including Microsoft Outlook®, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, Eudora, The Bat, Incredemail, and others.
Web Filter - Blocks and removes dangerous website content
Many websites use tricks in order to install dangerous software on your computer. The type of software can range from an annoying display of constant pop-up advertising, to spyware programs designed to steal your information or defraud you. Online Armor carefully inspects every web page that you visit and determines if any dangerous content or objects are present. If it is, you are immediately alerted and have the opportunity to block them. Online Armor's web filter works with virtually any Web browser on your computer, including those embedded in other programs.
Trusted Sites List - Significantly reduces unnecessary alerts and warnings
Web sites that you trust can be automatically added to your Trusted Sites list. When a site is on your Trusted Site list, you will not receive pop-up warnings while visiting that site unless a potential security problem is detected.
Untrusted Sites List - A guardian angel for You and your PC
If you have children or others who use your computer, the Untrusted Sites list provides extra protection to insure that unwanted and dangerous programs do not find their way into your computer. Sites that are potentially dangerous or questionable, but that you (or others) may still choose to visit anyway, can be marked as Untrusted sites. These sites may include online gaming sites, music download sites, and any others that have downloadable content, frequent pop-ups, and other potential sources of Spyware and malware. Sites included in your Untrusted List are very closely monitored, automatically have strict validations performed against them, and potentially dangerous content is automatically removed to safeguard you while you visit the site.
Cookie Cutter™ - Safeguards your Privacy
Online Armor's "Cookie Cutter" guards your privacy by transparently removing "persistent" or "tracking" cookies from the websites you visit. Online Armor accomplishes this by converting these to harmless "Session" cookies that your web browser will simply delete at the end of the session. Of course, any sites that you trust are permitted to store cookies in line with the settings you have established in your chosen Web browser.
Settings Monitor - Protects your browser Home Page
Online Armor will alert you if programs attempt to change your homepage in Internet Explorer or Firefox. Though a relatively minor security threat, it is a major annoyance when it occurs and can cause your browser to visit web sites that attempt to infect your computer with Spyware, Adware, and other dangers.
Internet Explorer® Extensions - Detects and removes unauthorized extensions
Some forms of spyware install themselves into Internet Explorer where they monitor what you type, which sites you visit, and even alter what you see in the web browser or modify your search results. Online Armor detects Internet Explorer extensions and lists them. From here, you may easily delete them if desired. If any program attempts to install itself into Internet Explorer, Online Armor will automatically alert you and provide you the opportunity to block it.
DNS and HOSTS Checker - Security against "Spoofing", "Phishing", and "Pharming" threats
For high-value sites you need to protect from "spoofing", "phishing", or "pharming", such as Online Banking or other financial sites, Online Armor's DNS Checker ensures that you are visiting the legitimate site and not a "spoof" site created to trick you. It compares the DNS results from your local machine against a trusted third-party server. This prevents programs from manipulating your Windows settings to misdirect you to fraudulent sites.
Your PC's HOSTS file can also be used by fraudsters and thieves to trick your Internet browser and cause you to visit sites other than the one you intended. Similar to the DNS Check, Online Armor checks your HOSTS file and automatically alerts you if anything changes.
